Kerry Brown, Chairman

Kerry Brown founded Foundation Equity Corporation, a fund which since 1991 has returned an exceptional annual compounded rate of return. An executive whose experience ranges from technology management and commercialization to public and private equity financings, Kerry is currently Chairman of the Board of McCoy Corporation, and sits on the Board of Directors of Innovotech Inc, DriveAble Assessment Centres Inc, First Yellowhead Equities Inc. Kerry is also a member of the Board of Governors at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT).

Kerry graduated from the University of Alberta with a Degree in Commerce and received his designation as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.

 

Nate Glubish, Director

Nate Glubish is a Partner and Portfolio Manager of Foundation Equity II LP. where he raises capital, sources prospective investments, manages the due diligence process, and assists in managing investee companies post-deal. Prior to his time at Foundation Equity II, Nate worked for McCoy Corporation as Manager of Planning & Development in their Energy Products & Services division, where he assisted in identifying acquisition candidates and investigating investment prospects, assisted on negotiating deals and performing due diligence.  Nate has also worked as a Portfolio Manager at Foundation Equity Corporation.

In addition to his role on the Board of Directors for Foundation Equity Corporation, Nate currently sits on the Boards for Preo Software Inc. and Foundation Ventures GP Inc. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce, Finance at the University of Saskatchewan.

 

Terry Chalupa, Director

Mr. Chalupa is the President and CEO of The Abalone Construction Group of Companies with over 37 years experience as an entrepreneur and business manager. Abalone is engaged in all facets of heavy construction. Through Terry's business acumen, innovative operational abilities, and leadership, Abalone has become a serious contender in the Alberta construction industry.

Mr. Chalupa has been a Director of McCoy Corporation since June 2001. He is also a Director of the Canadian Construction Association, and the Alberta Road Building and Heavy Construction Association.

 

Earl Everall, Director

Mr. Everall is an active venture capitalist, has been a Director of Foundation Equity Corp. since 1995, and manages a portfolio of investments in private companies within both the environmental and road building industries. For 25 years Mr. Everall was an Owner, President and CEO of Everall Construction Limited, a leader in Alberta’s road building industry that was acquired by E. Construction Ltd in 2000. Mr. Everall also co-founded Recycle West Inc., a pioneer in the waste oil recovery business that was acquired by Newalta Corporation in 1994.

Mr. Everall served as a Director and Chairman of the Alberta Road Building and Heavy Construction Association from 1987 to 1993. He was also a Finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1999. Mr. Everall holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Alberta.

 

Ron Fehr, Director

Mr. Fehr has over 30 years experience as a successful entrepreneur and business operator. He is currently CEO of Enviro West Inc., a hazardous waste recycling operation that stretches from Prince George, British Columbia to Thunder Bay, Ontario. Prior to this, he was CEO of Recycle West Inc., which he sold to a public company. Mr. Fehr has a long history of delivering excellent value for shareholders through business development and strategic exits and currently lends his expertise to others through his involvement on many Boards of Directors.

 

John C. Howard, C.A., Director

Mr. Howard is the Managing Partner of Howard Kirkpatrick Associations Chartered Accountants. He is a graduate from the University of Alberta and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1979. Mr. Howard owns and manages a North American real estate portfolio and also serves on the Board of Directors for McCoy Corporation, Roam Corporation and the Fort Edmonton Historical Foundation.

 

Peter von Sass, Director

Over the past fifteen years Mr. von Sass had operated a corporate and financial consulting business. He has extensive experience in both private and public financings.

 

Herman Young, Director

Mr. Young is a consultant specializing in International Elections, working under UN auspices. Mr. Young has a Bachelor degree in Arts and Science from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, NB. Mr. Young previously held a number of senior government positions including serving as Assistant Deputy Minister, Finance and Administration for Alberta Economic Development.
